5. blake griffin's self alley-oop honeydip dunk
the thing i liked about this dunk was the power behind it. some of the dunks were more spectacular looking, but it didn't have the power or pop behind this dunk. having griffin hang on the rim for a couple of seconds was also a nice touch.
4. serge ibaka's step behind the free throw line dunk
i thought ibaka got jipped on his score. sure, it wasn't new and many people have attempted and done the "free-throw line dunk", but the catch is that everyone was at least one step in or on the free throw line. serge was at least a step behind the line. i will admit that it wasn't as pretty as jordan's (ibaka didn't get as high), but still, you gotta give him credit for actually taking off behind the line and making it.
3. blake griffin's two hand 450 dunk
the thing i especially liked about this dunk was the way he pulled the ball behind his head as he was spinning in the air. by cocking it back, it gave the dunk a little more flair and power. again, his dunk was just a bit more thunderous than the others.
2. demar derozan's self alley-oop one hand windmill dunk
i thought this was the prettiest dunk out of all of them. it was just smooth, and i especially like the one-hand cup of the ball and swinging it through. it was also impressive because demar nailed it on his first try.
1. javale mgee's two basketball two basket dunk
i thought that this was by far the most impressive dunk. there is so much concentration needed to track one ball that he threw off the glass and dunking the other one with his left and doing it as his momentum is carrying him towards the other rim.
i dunno if blake should have won or not. his last dunk over the car wasn't that great... but i guess the show was fun. i would have probably chosen mcgee to win it. his 3 ball dunk was impressive, but it didn't really look that cool. his other one where he went under the basket was cool to see in slow motion. it made it look a lot harder than seeing it live. and his last dunk was just to show how high he could get. blake's windmill off the side backboard was nice, but it took a little too much time to do. demar's between the leg dunk was pretty. my least favorite was ibaka's getting the stuffed animal with his teeth, but it shows that he could literally kiss the rim if he wanted to... all in all, it was a good dunk contest. i would like a little less props and go with more straight dunks, but it is hard because almost all the dunks have already been done before.
