i am rooting for dallas to win. i think dirk and kidd deserve a ring, but my mind says the heat will win and lebron gets his first ring. the matchups are going to be pretty interesting. who's going to guard dirk? i don't think bosh can stop dirk. lebron might be a better matchup because he's stronger and more athletic, but if dirk can keep hitting his one-legged fade away, it's going to be a long series for the heat. the mavs bench deep and it'll be interesting to see how much spolestra plays his bench. if the mavs bench can keep providing the points when their starters rest, then they will be in good shape. the problem is that i really don't see them being able to stop miami's stars. marion will have his hands full with lebron, but i can see him slowing him down just a bit. and they have enough big bodies to throw at bosh. but the big problem i see is that no one is gonna be able to slow down wade. i think that he's going to have a big series and be finals mvp.
some other thoughts. my predictions for this year were pretty off. i thought the mavs would get bounced by portland, but they've been playing amazing team ball. their defense has stepped up as well, but the bigger thing is that they've shot the ball so well. they hit a lot of 3s too, so if they've got that going, they have a chance to win. i thought miami would make the finals, but i didn't think they'd be playing as well as they are. they play really solid defense and rotate really well. you know what they say. rebounding and defense wins games. dallas is good on the boards, but miami's defense is better.
