wonderlic test

the nfl combine just finished up this past weekend. many athletes were out to impress scouts and GMs in hopes that they would be drafted higher. they were tested on many things, but the main topics of conversations were their 40 time and wonderlic test score. the 40 time test how fast an athlete can run the 40 yard dash. the wonderlic tests their intelligence. there was a sample of the test you can take online, so i figured, why not. the result? i got a 35. not bad, i guess. but then again, i can't run a 4x40. haha. anyway, here's the sample test if you're curious: wonderlic test.

oscars 2011

a bunch of church members got together last night to watch the oscars. we brought our oscar food dishes such as "true grits fritters," "the kids are fried rice," "black flan," "natalie port wine" and many other punny fun food. i brought "potatoy story." haha. the food was good and it was fun getting together, but unfortunately i felt like the oscars were pretty bad.

james franco seemed really disconnected or tired or something. he wasn't funny. he just kinda stood there and said his lines. no charisma at all. anne hathaway was on the opposite spectrum. bubbly and over-excited "woo-ing" at all the presenters she presented. at first i thought they would do well, but they just didn't click and the night just seemed to drag on and on. my favorite part was when billy crystal came out and for a brief 2 minutes or so, you could see why he was asked to host multiple times. the other funny part was the auto-tuned musicals. i enjoyed that. and i was pleasantly surprised to see zachary levi (chuck) sing with mandy moore.

as for the results, i didn't agree with the academy on all their picks. i still think hailee should have won best supporting actress. i thought inception should have won best picture and best original screenplay and that christopher nolan should have at least been nominated for best director. but i did agree with colin firth winning best actor and christian bale winning best supporting actor.

all-in-all, it was a fun night being with friends, but the oscars itself weren't really that great.
