the start of the new sf giants season has not gone the way we hoped. it has definitely been disappointing so far. we came in with high expectations of having similar success as last year. we were going to prove that last year wasn't a fluke. that it wasn't just luck.
and things were looking up for us in spring training too. we had another young stud in brandon belt coming up from the minor leagues. he was going to give us another bat and win the rookie of the year award. pablo came into camp dropping 60 pounds and his swing was back. we brought back basically the same roster that won the championships last year, but this time, we get a full-year of buster and cody and burrell. look out!
yes, things were looking up. we were excited. but, sigh, things aren't looking so good right now. we're back to looking like the team that can't get enough runs. we can get men in scoring positions, but can't drive them home. and people are starting to clamor for needing that "big bat" again.
it's tough to be patient. i know that this is a long season. that it's better to have our struggles early, than late when it matters more. better to get this slump out of our system now. i know that we've had our injury woes. but still, it's tough to sit and see how poorly we're hitting.
but things can turn around! i still believe that the giants will get back on track. guys will start hitting. we'll start getting those key hits. we still have our pitching and bullpen. give me another month... and if things are still the same, then i'll start to panic. heh
